Points for pondering:

Spinoza - Synthesizes a particular relationship between God and nature.

Hume - Draws certain conclusions concerning the nature/possibility of miracles. He also relies heavily on his understanding of experience.

Paine - Specifically targets the credibility of the Bible and its content (what drives him?)

Strauss - Builds off of philosophers who have preceded him and creates a unique synthesis of ideas.

Each of these men have drawn certain conclusions in relation to Christianity (including miracles and the Bible). Be sure that you can articulate the place that Christianity has for each one.
