Persecution started to spread out from Jerusalem after the dispersion of the disciples. Saul converted to the religion which he had been persecuting, choosing to suffer in like persecution along with “a double measure of enmity from the party which he had left.” Plans were immediately initiated to murder one so despised as he was.
