What does Thomas Cooper mean by the term "circumstantial evidence", and how does he apply it in his rebuttal to Dr. David F. Strauss in The Bridge of History?

It may be helpful to relate Cooper's argument to a court of law.

Cooper identifies a specific allegation that is made my Strauss and responds to the allegation via his use of circumstantial evidence. Make sure that you know which particular allegation Cooper is referring to in addition to the core of his argument.
